Pro Tips for Seeing Israel & Jordan from a Travel Agent

    Aviator:

    Skip Eliason

    Where did you last travel?:

    Israel & Jordan

    Highlights and/or must see locations:

The Holylands tour was a bucket list item for me. Petra, in Jordan, was my favorite part!

Tips and tricks for fellow travelers:

As the owner of a travel agency for more than 25 years, I probably travel much more than most other people. It is amazing how many people make expensive travel mistakes when booking their travel - without the benefit of a professional travel advisor.

    Food/drink recommendations:

We stayed at mostly 5-star hotels and the food was primarily buffets. These were the largest and most varied buffets we have ever encountered. The food was delicious. We did begin to miss bacon after two weeks, but that was expected in this part of the world.

Many companies offer tours of the Holyland. They're a great way to see the region and visit locations like the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Galilee, Bethlehem, Petra and more.

Which Aviator products did you wear and were they helpful?:

It was very hot (upper 90's to 100) but my three pairs of Aviator jeans were always comfortable. I loved the multiple pockets, and was able to reconfigure the items that I took as I explored and eliminate my cross-shoulder daypack. I used a water bottle holder that clipped onto my belt or belt loop. I also had my Aviator ball cap which really cooled me down when I dampened it.

Anything else you’d like to share:

Here's a secret: Aviator jeans are not just for the airplane or travel. They have become my top choice for every day wear. They are very comfortable and the security pockets are invaluable. I especially like how they have enlarged the "watch" pocket so that my large cell phone fits perfectly. I initially ordered the one pair of Medium Dark Indigos to try them out. Within a week of receiving them, I ordered two more pair in black and khaki. After retuning from my trip a week ago, I preordered two more in faded indigo and steel grey. As I said, these are not just for travel.
